12 Ideas on how to create a headboard

Have you had the urge to modernize your headboard or personalize it, or simply make something new? Here are a series of ideas that you can discover to make your own original headboard.

 1) A plaited fabric for a soft headboard

For this headboard you will need a piece of wood to hang the headboard off and numerous pairs of the same curtain with top loops, wadding, a sewing machine, a needle and thread, black and grey fabric dye. Cut off the top loops on all of your curtains; throw away the top loops except for 2. Lay each curtain fabric on top of each other, pin together then cut long strips to the top. Sew these strips together with a sewing machine and stuff with wadding. Take 3 of your tubes and plait together, repeat with all tubes and sew each plait trio shut with a needle and thread. Using your sewing machine sew along the top of your hooped section, sewing in one by one each plaited tube. If you haven’t been able to find different fabrics in different monochrome tones, you can dye the fabric strips first following the packet instructions.
