If it’s hot at home right now or you’re suffering from heat, a pool is probably one of your biggest dreams. Moreover, when it is overwhelming heat, swimming is one of the only exercises our body agrees to do in summer. Nevertheless, having a swimming pool is often expensive: there is maintenance of course but also the purchase of the swimming pool which can be expensive when you look into the dimensions and installation. That’s why this man decided to recreate a swimming pool from … an old dumpster!
Stefan Beese is an architect from New Orleans in the United States and he was 42 years old at the time of creation and using a material as surprising as a dump bin does not frighten him. For him, one thing is certain: “I wanted something modern and contemporary in my garden. I immediately liked the concept of a hidden bin. I love the fact that people ask “is it fiberglass?” And see their surprise with my answer! “
The result: a 1.50 m deep swimming pool measuring 6.7 mx 2.1 m. After proper cleaning, the application of anti-corrosion paint such as that used for roofing or cement, the use of insulating foam for around the bin and the installation of wooden panels on the contours to make it look amazing, the small family finds itself with a magnificent pool for about 5,000 euros!
The little extra? They kept the shape of the container to have a place to sit while staying in the water and the part that allows hanging the container to the truck is still there. If they remove the panels around the pool they will be able to move the bin with a truck to install it in the other house
How it looked at the beginning
They dig a huge hole in the ground.
